| Ueberblick includes a collection of aerial images that explores nature and structure with a focus on bridges and overpasses. These tremendously engineered structures inspired Heinser to compose abstract, graphic expressions that stretch beyond the intrinsic beauty and of the bridge and its ability to connect neighborhoods, cities and nations. He captures how the quiet reality of form and function transcends the landscape. Ten of these large scale (50" x 60") photographs were exhibited at Gallery 16 in San Francisco in 2010. Circus Portrait is a series of portraits that offers a still-life look at the larger than life, supernatural talents of the circus artist. Heinser wanted to show the physical strength, focus and soul of these artists and photographed them over several months at The San Francisco Circus Center, a non-profit school of circus arts. Twenty-two 44" x 56" prints were displayed at the San Francisco War Memorial Herbst in 2008. |
| Tank Top Youth is an ongoing series, with Heinser photographing children and teens multiple times over the course of several years. In contrast to the commercial photographs he takes of children to promote fashion and other products, here he makes it about the children themselves. Heinser photographs the youth in basic, white tank shirting and jeans, utilizing the same set up and primarily natural light. He captures their sincere expressions and offers a glimpse of each child's unique and complex nature. Ten of these large (45" x 50") photographs were purchased and exhibited in the gallery space at Foote Cone Belding, San Francisco in 2007. |
